The Create Lot
Lines functions of Land
Planner Suite have the unique capability to honor constraints
along
the rear of the lots. This means that if the lot lines
encounter a lightweight polyline that has
been defined as
a constraint, the lot that is created will follow that polyline and use it as
the rear of
the lot. The image below should help explain this
concept.
Constraints can be defined by the Define Constraint
command. When executed, the user will be prompted
to Pick Polyline to use as constraint. This will copy
the selected polyline to the Constraints as set in the
Layer Manager. Freezing this
layer will dis-able the constraint capabilities of the Land Planner Suite.
It should be noted that when the Create Lot Lines command do not find a
constraint, a constraint is
created as the new lots are drawn. This
capability ensures that new lots will not overlap existing lots.
