Create Lot
Lines- |
This function draws a semi-circular cul-de-sac template centered on the end
point of a selected
centerline entity. After the lots are drawn, the
template can be rotated and/or moved to create
the optimum layout.

The user is prompted to select a centerline.
This selection should be a lightweight polyline that has
previously selected
in the Draw Roadway Linework function.
This is necessary because Land Planner
Suite must have the roadway
information that is associated with the desired road type in order to
correctly
draw the template. (If the polyline selected does not have
the associated road type data, the user will be
alerted and the command will
exit).

The user will then be prompted to select the type of units to be drawn.

If no Unit Types are present in the drawing, the user
will be alerted and the function will exit. Unit Types must
then
be created or imported before the function can be
used.
The user will then be asked to enter the right-of-way and back-of-curb radii for the cul-de-sac.
The user will then be asked if lot widths should be adjusted to allow for
easements. The user can answer "Y" or "N".
Answering Yes will cause the
function to draw easements at the separation distance indicated in the Unit Design Criteria
If the distance entered in
the Unit Design Criteria is not an even multiple of the nomimal lot width, the
user will be prompted
for the numbers of lots to draw before drawing an
easement. (Please see Unit Design
Criteria in this manual for additional
information on the easement
calculations.) No easements will be drawn if the number of lot drawn
around the cul-de-sac
is less than the number of lots between easements.
Lot will then be calculated starting perpendicular to the centerline at the
endpoint and will continue as for as
possible around the cul-de-sac.
When the final lot is drawn, the entire template can be rotated about the
center point. The user can adjust the template to the desired angle and
click to finish the command.
After the function is complete, the newly draw entities (lots, cul-de-sac
right-of-way and curb, setbacks, unit block data) are
grouped together into
an Autocad group to allow for easy adjustment and relocation. Should
the user desire to 'un-group'
the entities, it is suggested that the user
utilitize the UnGroup Cul-de-Sac function
rather than exploding. Exploding the
group will explode a the
constituent entities including the lot outline polylines and the lot data block
reference with the latter
losing its attribute data.
