Create Lot Lines- |
This
function allows a user to layout lots starting from an existing lot line, open
space or other situation
where standard side setbacks are required. The first
lot created will
have standard side setbacks.
The user is prompted to select a centerline.
This selection should be a lightweight polyline that has
previously selected
in the Draw Roadway Linework function.
This is necessary because Land Planner
Suite must have the roadway
information that is associated with the desired road type in order to
correctly
draw the lot lines. (If the polyline selected does not have
the associated road type data, the user will be
alerted and the command will exit). Lot lines drawn with
this function will start at the right-of-way of
the selected
centerline.

After selecting the centerline, the function prompts
for the side of the centerline on which to draw the lots.
The user can enter
"L" or "R" (Left and right are based on standing on the centerline and looking up
station, from
station 0+00 toward station 1+00. Temporary directional
arrows will indicate which direction the centerline was
drawn). Or the
user can simply indicate the desired side with a mouse click.
The user will then be prompted to select the type of units to be drawn.

If no Unit Types are present in the drawing, the user
will be alerted and the function will exit. Unit Types must
then
be created or imported before the function can be
used.
After selected the desired unit type, the function
will ask for the desired Starting Station. The value can be
entered
(stations should be entered without the
plus sign, Station 1+15.25 would be entered 115.25). Or the user can
indicate
the starting station with a mouse pick. The point picked does not have to
be directly on the centerline.
The first lotline will be drawn at the station
nearest point picked.
The user will then be prompted for the ending
station. This value, like the starting station, can be entered directly
or
indicating on the screen. The function will compute full-size and stop
drawing lots as near as possible to the
indicated ending station. The
last lot line may not be drawn at the indicated ending station depending on the
mathematics of the stations, lot size, and centerline geometry.
Please note that Land Planner Suite
will draw lots in any direction. The direction in which the base
entity
was drawn has no impact on the way lots are computed. Lots can
be drawn up-station or
down-station.
The user will then be asked if lot widths should be
adjusted to allow for easements. The user can answer "Y" or
"N".
Answering Yes will cause the function to draw easements at the
separation distance indicated in the Unit Design
Criteria
If the distance entered in the Unit Design Criteria is not an
even multiple of the nomimal lot width, the user will be prompted
for the
numbers of lots to draw before drawing an easement. (Please see Unit Design Criteria in this manual for
additional
information on the easement calculations.)
